Join The Rowan Center, the Connecticut Alliance to End Sexual Violence, local leaders, and sexual violence prevention advocates from across the state for Proclamation Day. Together, we will recognize the power of SAAM and hear from inspiring leaders in the movement.
The Rowan Center advocates and educators are attending Staples High School Senior Day to provide education and resources for students who are graduating this spring. They will present Know before you Go and be on hand to answer questions from students. This event is for Staples students and staff. It is not open to the public.
The Rowan Center is partnering with Norwalk Community College's Campus Awareness Response Team (CART) on a wellness fair for students and faculty. We will share information and resources and spread the word about Sexual Assault Awareness Month. There will also be a yoga class from 12 to 12:30 p.m. This event is open to NCC students and faculty.
Our educators will present Working with Victims of Sexual Violence to nursing students at Norfolk Community College. We are grateful to Michele Nye, DNP, RN, CNE, and Associate Professor of Nursing, for helping bring this event to life. We will cover working with survivors, Sexual Assault Forensic Exam (SAFE) Kits, and becoming a state-certified Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner (SAFE) nurse.

UConn Stamford students are invited to join us for Take Back the Night at UConn Stamford! We will be in the Concourse from 1-3 p.m., sharing resources, answering student questions, and creating signs. At 2:30 p.m., we will head out to Whitey Heist Park to raise awareness for Sexual Assault Awareness Month! We will hold signs and raise our voices together in support of the fight to end sexual violence.
